Armando Solimรตes, a former university professor and researcher from Sรฃo Paulo. To escape political persecution and the disappearance of his colleagues, he flees to the seaside city of Recife during the chaotic week of Carnival. Under the alias Marcelo, he seeks refuge in an apartment building run by Dona Sebastiana, which serves as a secret safe house for several political dissidents.
