Set in 1988 at Shadyside High, the film follows Lori Granger, an outcast with a troubled family history, who is unexpectedly nominated for prom queen. As prom night approaches, a masked killer begins targeting the prom queen candidates, leading to a series of gruesome murders. The mystery deepens as Lori uncovers dark secrets involving her rival, Tiffany Falconer, and her family.
