A dystopian future where people are imprisoned in a vertical prison known as "The Hole." The prison is a cylindrical structure with hundreds of levels, each containing a single cell with two inmates. Every day, a platform descends from the top level, carrying food down to the lower levels. The prisoners on the higher levels can eat as much as they want, but by the time the platform reaches the bottom levels, there's little to no food left.
