Brian Simmons, who is concerned that his son, B.J. , has become too “sheltered” and disconnected from his heritage. While Brian wants B.J. to attend Morehouse College, B.J. is set on attending Pepperdine University in Malibu with his wealthy friends. To “toughen him up” and teach him about the real world, Brian recruits his father, Joe, to drive B.J. across the country for his college tours.
